Specialized support to
inspire lifelong learning
Thoughtful, customized services for students navigating college and graduate school transitions, with dedicated support for parents and educators

“A much-needed place and space to decompress, process, and organize. [I was guided to] find resources both in-school and externally - like tutors and a really high quality planner - that eventually landed me on the Dean's list for my final, and most difficult, semester of college.”
About us
We are lifelong educators with over sixty years of combined experience providing learning support to students in public and private middle and high schools, colleges, universities, and graduate, professional, and online programs. We specialize in academic transitions, supporting students from high school through graduate school as they grow into confident, strategic, and self-directed learners. Our personalized online services meet each student where they are and guide them toward their goals.
We also offer dedicated support for parents and thoughtfully crafted online workshops for educators — each designed to strengthen student success in a meaningful and individualized way. While our support is presently offered entirely online, if you are local to York, ME (where we are headquartered), please inquire about in-person meetings to establish and discuss services.
What exactly is learning specialist support and how is it different than subject-based tutoring?
Learning specialists provide individualized strategies to help students access their coursework so that they can study more efficiently, effectively, and engage deep, meaningful learning. We help students to better understand how they think and learn, how to attain higher test scores, stop procrastinating, and stay motivated. Learning specialists also support parents and educators with strategies for helping all students access their fullest potential and design their own unique path to lifelong learning.
While our services don’t presently include subject-based tutoring, our learning specialists have expertise in supporting students with humanities-based, STEM, and health professions coursework. We are also experienced with teaching writing and reading for specific purposes, including helping students navigate academic English and course expectations in any subject or program.
